Welcome to our school's website. Our school is located south of Menomonie on Highway 25 and is surrounded by the quiet town of Downsville and area farms. The community supports us by attending our special events, helping with our building projects, and volunteering. Downsville Elementary School has a long history of learning. Students excel on the Wisconsin State Test because of their commitment to learning and the support of their parents and staff. We are small enough that we have many extra activities which includes many field trips and extra programs such as the Veterans' Day Program. Families donate their time and funds for many worthwhile projects. If you are looking for an area steeped in history, you've found it in Downsville. Our roots go back to the logging days of Knapp, Stout & Company. The Company Store is still operational as a Coffee House. We also have a local museum which is part of the Dunn County Historical Society and has many local artifacts. A county hiking trail runs through the town. February Happenings Haiti We will be collecting money designated to aid the people of Haiti. The money collected will be channeled through the Salvation Army. 100% of all money collected wll go directly to this cause. Our collection period will start tomorrow and end on Friday, February 12 PTC Red Heart's Dance There will be a school dance on Friday, February 19th from 6:00-8:30 PM. There will be games, competitions, concessions and of course dancing!! Downville School Olympics We will be having our own Olympics at Downsville School on February 19th from 12:30-3:30 PM. Look for more information to come at a later date. General Mills Box Tops for Education Our deadline for mailing box tops is Wednesday, February, 24th. We have received $220.80 already and have another $75 of box tops ready to go! After February 24th, please continue to save and send to school for next year. Thanks for your wonderful support of this project! Parent-Teacher Conferences Conferences will be Thursday, February 25th from 4:00-7:45 PM and Friday, February 26th from 8:00-11:45 AM. Be watching for your appointment slip and return it to school as soon as possible. Just a reminder that there will be no school on Friday, February 26th.
