Our Vision for our Students

"Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future"
John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Downsville Elementary has a long history of providing students with  exceptional educational experiences. Students excel on the Wisconsin State Test because of their commitment to learning and the support of their parents and staff. It is  because of the collaborative team work between the administration, teachers, students, parents and community member that our children achieve academic success and form happy memories of school. Our “hands-on” approach to teaching makes learning exciting and fun.

Approximately, 107  students are enrolled in kindergarten through fifth grade. There is one section in each grade level.
As well as a strong academic program that is delivered by our dedicated teachers, there are many learning opportunities that enrich and enhance our curriculum. Vocal,  art, physical education, guidance, library and field trips are made available for all Downsville students. Believing that all children are unique learners, Downsville provides support for our accelerated learners as well as services such as special education and math/reading support for challenged learners who meet criteria.
Our school is located south of Menomonie on Highway 25 and is surrounded by the quiet town of Downsville and area farms. The community supports us by attending our special events, helping with our building projects, and volunteering.

If you are looking for an area steeped in history, you've found it in Downsville. Our roots go back to the logging days of Knapp, Stout & Company. The Company Store is still operational as a Coffee House. We also have a local museum which is part of the Dunn County Historical Society and has many local artifacts. A county hiking trail runs through the town.

If you have additional questions or are interested in a tour of Downsville School, please call our school office at (715) 664-8546. Our school hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We would love to show you around!
